Jan 15 - Cafe Scientifique - Environmental Petitions

Our Cafe Scientifique is an informal gathering of people to discuss current science, conservation and environmental issues that affect our communities. On the second Monday of each month, we will discuss a different topic related to biology, conservation, wilderness and our place in the environment.

On Monday January 15, we will discuss environmental petitions, what they are, what they are for and how to use them.

What are Environmental Petitions? If you would like a federal minister to respond to your questions or suggestions for action on environmental issues that concern you, the Environmental Petitions process managed by the federal Commissioner of the Environment and Sustainable Development (CESD) is a an easy to use tool at your disposal.  Kris Nanda from the CESD will be on-hand at our next meeting to tell you more about environmental petitions and to answer your questions.

Meet at the Fox and the Feather Pub on Elgin st, Ottawa from 7:00-9:00pm, order a drink, grab a bite to eat and engage in discussion on Environmental Petitions.
