Join CPAWS Ottawa Valley for Canada Parks Day!

Canada Parks Day is celebrated across the country to commemorate Canada's natural beauty. Gatineau Park is a beloved treasure in the Ottawa-Gatineau region and we’d like to share it with you.

On Saturday, July 16th, CPAWS OV will be conducting a guided hike in Gatineau Park, it'll be a fun-filled day for the whole family. As we advocate for legislation to protect the park, we invite conservationists and outdoor recreation enthusiasts alike to come and learn not only about the diverse wildlife the park has to offer, but also what you can do to help maintain its protection for generations to come.

What you can expect:

Check-in table in parking lot 16 where we will provide food and beverages
- Enter a raffle to win a great CPAWS inspired prize!

Guided 10 km hike with our conservation biologist Elena Kreuzberg
- Learn about wildlife in the park
- Checkpoints with activities and refreshment breaks
- Scavenger hunt as you hike

At the end of the trail, more refreshments, live music, and fun activities for all ages!
The hike will be leaving from parking lot 16 at 9:30 a.m. and will return at about 2:00 p.m. The guided hike is free of charge and all ages are welcome. Please keep in mind it is a 10 km hike round trip, but we will have refreshments set up along the way. Feel free to do the hike at your own pace and meet us at the end to join in the festivities; we will be following the Healy Trail off of Trail 50 from parking lot 16.
