RBC Volunteering at Mud Lake

Last Thursday, RBC‘s Ottawa team joined CPAWS-OV to help build new flower beds for nesting turtles that inhabit the wetland and Ottawa River around Mud lake. We were very surprised when we found out that RBC was helping us not only with a coordinated volunteer team, but also by giving us a generous gift for our ecological education program. It was unexpected, but very much appreciated! Thank you RBC for this grant, we will put it to good use.

After presenting the gift, the RBC volunteer team helped us to build two flower beds, remove invasive bushes near the lake, and gathered garbage around the road and filtration plant.
Already two days later snapping turtles were observed surveying the nesting beds prepared by the volunteers.
