It is that time of year again where CPAWS-OV is in need of volunteers. We are currently looking for volunteers to help us with planting flower beds at Mud Lake to provide the turtles with nesting locations. We are hoping to host a volunteer training session on Wednesday May 18th in the late afternoon around 5pm. This session will also apply for other volunteering opportunities involved with data collection and road ecology.

If you are interested in volunteering with CPAWS-OV this season please send me an email confirming your interest, availability (morning/noon/afternoons/evenings, and days of the week), and whether or not Wednesday May 18th works well for training and if it does, then what time in the afternoon works best. Also, we are trying to decide whether Mud lake or the office (located in Gatineau) will be an easier meeting location. If you could please provide us with the location you prefer, that would be great! We will be taking a poll to determine a good meeting time and location.

I should also introduce myself. I am a new intern at CPAWS-OV and I am working with Elena Kreuzberg (Conservation Biologist) for the duration of my internship. I feel that the volunteer events we will be hosting are a great way for people to get involved, help their community and the wildlife within and surrounding area, as well as to meet new people and make new friends.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to email me at lviau@cpaws.org. If you volunteer this season, I look forward to meeting you.
