Volunteer with CPAWS-OV!

CPAWS-OV relies heavily on its group of dedicated volunteers. We wouldn't be able to do our work without you! We are always on the look-out for new volunteers (for a complete listing of our volunteer positions, please click here), but right now we're hoping to find some specific recruits.

Positions we're hoping to fill immediately include:

1) Writer/Editor Volunteers

Are you a journalism student, blogger, or creative writer? Do you want to help a great organization tell its story? Do comma splices drive you crazy?

If so, CPAWS Ottawa Valley wants you!

We are looking for writers and editors to work with our campaign committees to develop brochures, web content, video scripts, newsletter stories, special reports, and press releases. Volunteers may be responsible for creating material (with support from campaign committees for content) or for editing existing products for grammar and style. Much of the work can be done from home, but volunteers are welcome to meet our campaign committees and get involved with other areas of the organization.

Interested candidates should have a way with words, a keen eye for detail, and a strong command of English grammar (including punctuation). A grammar test may be administered as part of the volunteer recruitment process.

Does this sound like a great opportunity for you?  Please send your resume and a cover letter (outlining your interest in the position) to ov-volunteer@cpaws.org.

2) Outreach Coordinators

CPAWS Ottawa Valley is looking for creative and enthusiastic volunteers to reach out to the general public in the National Capital Region. These Outreach Coordinators will join our Outreach Committee to plan events, write communication plans, increase our social (and traditional) media presence, create fundraising opportunities, and advise the chapter's Board of Directors on outreach activities.

We're looking for volunteers who would like to take on a leadership role - and have a good time, too! The Outreach Committee provides plenty of room for creativity, and working with the committee will give students and recent graduates excellent ENGO experience to build their resumes.

Does this sound like a great opportunity for you? Please send your resume and a cover letter (outlining your interest in the role) to ov-volunteer@cpaws.org.

If you have any questions about any of our volunteer listings, please feel free to contact us any time at ov-volunteer@cpaws.org. Interviews may be conducted for some volunteer positions.
