Do you love the green spaces in the Ottawa Valley and want to help make sure they are here for future generations to enjoy? Do you like talking to new people and sharing your passion for the outdoors? We are looking for dedicated volunteers to help us with petitioning and collecting signatures to make sure we have a strong campaign with as many voices as possible to put pressure on our leaders to act and protect the Gatineau Park and the Greenbelt against excessive infrastructure encroachment. This will also help us protect our economy by ensuring local farmers have places to grow our food and visitors can continue to enjoy these essential recreational spaces all while mitigating climate change and protecting us from flooding and drought events.
Volunteers will:
Gather signatures in key areas
Use a provided Q&A sheet to guide conversations and help people understand what is happening and why they should care.
We’re looking for volunteers who are outgoing, have strong people skills and are fluent in English. Bilingual volunteers (English/French) are especially welcome.
If this sounds like you and / or if you have any questions, please reach out to Melinda at ov-outreach@cpaws.org
Please let us know if you are interested in helping with our Greenbelt or Gatineau Park campaigns in a different role, different opportunities to often come up.
