CPAWS-OV launches new youth program for newcomers to Canada

CPAWS-OV is excited to announce the launch of our brand new Youth Program for newcomer youth (ages 18-30), in the Ottawa Valley: Nature for Everyone, Everywhere!

This 12-month program is designed to connect newcomer youth with nature through hands-on volunteer experiences and service opportunities that make a real impact on preserving biodiversity. Youth will gain essential employable skills and real-world experience in project coordination, leadership, networking, and more!

One of the biggest highlights? A 3-day wilderness adventure where participants get to embark on a thrilling expedition to explore a regional watershed in need of protection! Participants will not only experience the beauty of the Ottawa Valley firsthand but also learn crucial conservation skills while navigating the great outdoors!

This program consists of 3 core components:

  1. Wilderness Expedition: An unforgettable 3-day adventure exploring and learning about a watershed in need of protection.
  2. Participant-led volunteer projects: Dive into conservation or environmental education initiatives in your community.
  3. Summit: Gain skills in civic engagement, leadership, and advocacy while sharing knowledge with other passionate youth!

Recruitment for our first cohort is open NOW!
