With a busy summer schedule, we have postponed our June monthly Wilderness Walks to the first Saturday in July. Join us on Saturday July 4th for our next event in our series of educational hikes.
To celebrate the summer season, our Executive Director John McDonnell would like to invite you to his family property in Mayo, Quebec. The hike will follow a series of trails through mature and regenerating forests, along streams, and across a beaver meadow. Along the way, we’ll pause at several beautiful viewpoints overlooking the valley, where we can take in the scenery, and share some complimentary iced tea, lemonade, and summer snacks. John will be helping to lead the hike and can provide updates on CPAWS-OV conservation projects and initiatives and how you can get involved
- Date: Saturday July 4th
- Time: 9am
- Location: We will gather in the parking lot of St. Malachy’s church in Mayo (3889 route 315, Mayo, QC J8L 4J6) 3889 route 315, Mayo
The hike is approximately 4km and there is some elevation gain, but we can make several stops along the way. We recommend wearing proper hiking footwear and bringing hiking poles if you use them. Once everyone has arrived at St. Malachy’s church, we will travel as a group to the trailhead (approximately 10 minutes away). Carpooling is encouraged from there as space is very limited at the trailhead. Outhouses are available at the trailhead.
Spaces are limited, reserve your spot now by emailing Jennifer at jhaughton@cpaws.org.
Admission: A small donation to support the work of CPAWS-OV is appreciated.
We reserve the right to postpone the excursion in the event of inclement weather. Please check your email the evening of June 3rd for any important updates.
